西武片岡が４２日ぶりにスタメン復帰した。右ひざ痛のため２軍で調整中だったが、この日登録されてすぐに定位置の２番で起用された。試合前の練習では「状態は万全ですよ」と復活をアピール。昨年の阪神戦では６試合で打率３割７分５厘と好相性で「意識はないですけどね。じゃあ頑張らないと」と意気込んで久々の１軍のグラウンドに飛び出していった。
