初回２死から主砲セギノールが、死球で出塁し盗塁に成功した田中賢を二塁に置いて、中前に先制適時打を放った。「賢介がチャンスをつくってくれたからね。うまく、しんでとらえられてよかった」。直後に同点にされたが、先発山本昌の出はなをくじく一打だった。
