日本ハム森本が、４月２１日から継続する連続試合安打を「２４」に更新し、球団記録に並んだ。初回の第１打席にソフトバンク先発の田之上を強襲する安打を放ち、５１年に大下弘（東急）が記録した球団の歴代１位に５６年ぶりに肩を並べた。２回の２打席目は２点適時打を放ち「テレビで応援してくれているファンのみなさんにも届け！２点ゲッツ！」と、広報を通じコメントした。
