無情な判定に、マウンドにいる巨人内海がヒザをついた。６回裏２死満塁、フルカウントから中日荒木に投げた内角低めの直球がボールになった。「（ストライクに）取って欲しかった」という阿部の言葉通り、微妙な判定だった。それでも、反撃ムードに水を差し、致命傷となる押し出しの四球は覆らない。「微妙な判定？ その辺はどういうコメントしていいか分からないね」と原監督も振り返った。
