ロッテが延長１２回に青野の中前適時打で今季初めてサヨナラ勝ちし、バレンタイン監督５７歳の誕生日を白星で飾った。殊勲打を放ったヒーローは試合後のインタビューで、「恥ずかしいから」と封印予定だった『桜島ファイアー』のパフォーマンスを、先輩たちの厳しい監視の目もあって渋々披露。この日の打撃練習では、母の日ということでピンクのバットを使用していたが「母の日に１番いいプレゼントができましたね」と、笑顔を見せた。
