オリックスは二塁を踏めたのは初回、ラロッカの二塁打だけ。楽天先発の青山にプロ初完投初完封を許す散発４安打で完敗した。テリー・コリンズ監督（５７）はセラフィニの序盤７失点もあって「自分の手を離れた試合。最近出ていなかった塩崎を打席に立たせたかった」と、早くも６回には好調ラロッカに代打を送る“試合放棄”。１０連敗のあと１つ勝っただけでまた４連敗を喫し、借金は１５となった。
