中日は中７日と万全を期して登板した川上が今季最短の２回でＫＯされた。落合監督就任後では、０４年４月２５日のヤクルト戦（金沢）の１回６失点ＫＯに次ぐ短期ＫＯ。「自分でもよくないなと思っていました。球威がなかったということです。巨人打線とかそういうことは関係ないです」。今季は、６試合で１勝２敗、防御率５・２９と川上にしては信じられないような数字が並ぶ。落合監督は「あのまま投げ続けさせても何にもならない。あとはどうやって調整するかだ」と心配なしを強調した。
