クリーンアップの打線組み替えも実らず、完封負けで９連敗となった。この日は３番北川、４番ラロッカ、５番ローズの新打線を形成。だが１点を追う９回、相手の３死四球でもらった無死満塁のチャンスで登板した武田久の前にラロッカ、ローズが連続の空振り三振。下山も倒れて１点が遠かった。「無死満塁で４、５、６番。期待してた結果があった。何かが起こるだろうと…」。コリンズ監督もがっくり。球団ワーストの１０連敗にあと１と迫った。
