巨人が投打に圧倒し、昨年６月７日以来、３１９日ぶりの単独首位に立った。先発の高橋尚が８回１失点の好投。打線も高橋由、谷の猛打賞など今季最多の１７安打と爆発した。高橋尚は開幕からの無失点記録が２８回で止まったが「記録はいつか途切れる。それより自分の投球をすること。１人１人打者を抑えることしか考えていません」。無欲が好投の要因、と満足そうに話した。
