西武和田が３回に貴重な犠飛で追加点を挙げた。３回１死一、三塁から建山の内角直球を左へ運んだ。「追い込まれていたので、どんな球でも対応しようと思っていた。結果的に犠牲フライになって良かった」。初回にリーファーの満塁弾で４点リードした後の追撃で日本ハムを突き放した。
