常葉学園菊川（静岡）が３試合連続逆転勝ちで初の頂点に立った。希望枠で春夏通じて初出場の大垣日大（岐阜）に先制を許したが、１点を追う８回裏２死から３安打で２点を奪い６－５と逆転した。今大会５試合で犠打はわずかに１しかなく、最後まで貫いた強攻策が終盤のミラクル劇を呼んだ。静岡県勢としては、森下知幸監督（４６）が浜松商の主将として優勝して以来２９年ぶり４度目になる。
