大垣日大の初出場初優勝はならなかった。連投のエース森田貴之（３年）が緩急を使って再三のピンチを切り抜けたが、５－４で迎えた８回裏２死からスライダーを痛打され３安打２失点で逆転を許した。東邦で３８年間監督を務めた名将、阪口慶三監督（６２）は「向こうの方が１枚も２枚も力が上だった。選手は一戦ごとに成長して、今日は満点のゲームが出来た。楽しませてもらいました」とサバサバ。希望枠から初の決勝進出に満足感が漂った。
