ソフトバンクが今季初のサヨナラ勝ちで４連勝を飾った。７－７で迎えた９回裏２死一塁、柴原が右翼席へ今季１号となるサヨナラ２ランを放って激闘にピリオドを打った。序盤は打線が注目のルーキー、楽天先発の田中を２回途中でＫＯするなど、２回までに６点を奪う猛攻を発揮。先発のガトームソンが６回６失点と乱れ、終盤にもつれ込む展開だったが、最後は１発で決めた。９回２死から登板した山村が、７年目にして、うれしいプロ初勝利。お立ち台に上がった柴原は「今日は自分の打撃ができていなかったので、最後は思い切りいこうと思っていた。小久保さんがつないでくれたので、自分もつなげようという意識でいいスイングができた」と声を弾ませていた。
