日本ハム先発のスウィーニーが来日初登板で初黒星を喫した。２、４回にローズに２打席連続本塁打を浴び、５回には下山にも１発を運ばれた。６回２死一、二塁のピンチを招いたところで降板。「試合をつくれなかった」と悔しさを表した。５回２／３で８安打６奪三振２四死球３失点。次回登板へ向けて「しっかりと勝ちにいけるようにしたい」と話してた。
