巨人に「つなぐ野球」が浸透してきた。結果的に得点にはつながらなかったものの、この日は４度の犠牲バントを成功させ、試合を優勢に進めた。２犠打の小坂は「自分が先頭なら塁に出る。走者が出た場面ならつながないといけない。そういう意味で今日はよかったと思います」と満足そうに振り返った。
