中日の育成選手・中村紀洋内野手（３３＝オリックス）は、オープン戦でセ・リーグの投手と初対決した。３番三塁で先発して高橋尚と２度対決。見逃し三振、三ゴロと凡退した。４回終了後に交代したが、その後もベンチで相手投手の球筋をしっかり研究。「ボールを見られて良かったと思う」と手応えをつかんだ様子。８日の西武戦で死球を受けた左ひじについては「少し腫れているけど、それは（交代とは）全然関係ない」と話した。
