楽天の山村宏樹投手（３０）がオープン戦初先発も、３回松中に右翼席へ３ランを浴びるなど、４回６安打５失点２四球と試合をつくれなかった。「調子はそんなに悪くなかったけど、打たれたことは事実なので反省しないといけない」。昨季はチームトップタイの７勝を挙げた右腕だけに、野村監督は「去年のエースだったのにな」と残念な表情。また、チームの得点は２回竜太郎の２ランのみ。４安打に終わった打線にも、同監督「毎度のことだ」とあきれていた。
