中日の育成選手・中村紀洋内野手（３３＝オリックス）が注目のルーキー・楽天田中将大投手（１８＝駒大苫小牧）にプロの洗礼を浴びせた。５番三塁で２試合ぶりに先発出場し、４回の第２打席に１４０キロ直球をバックスクリーン左に運んだ。「体がうまく反応してくれました。（死球を受けた）右ひじは、まだ腫れていますけど、今は結果を出さなければいけない時期なので、必死でやっています」。守っても５回、１死一、二塁でフェルナンデスの三塁線へのゴロを好捕するなど攻守にハツラツとしたプレーを見せた。
