巨人の「０７年版クリーンアップ」が、ついに眠りから覚めた。８日まで１２球団最低のチーム打率２割５厘と低調だったが、まずは新３番小笠原が勢いづけた。３回１死三塁で右中間へ適時二塁打。巨人での初長打、初打点をマーク。５回に２打席連続で右中間二塁打を放ったところで代走を送られ、「いいところで打てた」と笑顔でベンチに下がった。
