広島が２試合連続の完封勝ちを収めた。先発高橋から長谷川、佐竹、林、広池、梅津とつないだ。これで計２０イニング連続無失点と投手陣の奮闘が光る。３回１安打無失点と好投した長谷川は「今日は狙ってゴロをとりにいけた。去年、中継ぎで結果を残したことが自信になっている」と胸を張った。初回の新井の先制打による“スミ１”を守り切った。
