ソフトバンクが中盤以降の打線爆発で快勝した。３回まで阪神先発の能見に完全に抑えられていたが、４回に多村が移籍初アーチを右中間席に運んで先制すると、打線に火がついた。６回には川崎、松中の適時打と、アダムの走者一掃となる３点適時二塁打で一気に５得点。７回にも２点を追加し、今オープン戦最多となる８得点で勝った。王監督も「多村がよく打った。センター中心の彼らしい打球だった。これで（多村、松中、小久保の）クリーンアップの第１歩が切れたかな」と上機嫌だった。オープン戦２度目の登板となった先発杉内は、５回をわずか１安打無失点に抑える快投を見せた。
