For George Steinbrenner, this would be a choice between right and right. But there's a third option lurking completely removed from the Yankees culture, an outsider to the team's nucleus, and the kind of showman that Torre most certainly is not. At first glance, there's no reason to believe Bobby Valentine would ever have a chance to manage the Yankees. But then again, he could appeal to The Boss for precisely those crazy reasons.
