It's a start: Matsuzaka allows leadoff double, little else in debut
Daisuke Matsuzaka made his American exhibition season debut on Friday night, and on the Matsuzaka Mania scale -- the Dice-K Meter, while we're making things up -- the outing registered somewhere between one of his well-chronicled morning stretches and one of his better bullpen sessions. The two-inning workout was mildly interesting to some (including millions in Japan, who watched the start of the game against Boston College live on TV), but in the end it was largely uneventful and, ultimately, pretty meaningless.
