We always knew it would be an international media event when Daisuke Matsuzaka threw his first pitch in a Red Sox [team stats] uniform.

We knew that tickets to watch would be scarce, that fans in Japan would monitor the proceedings on live television and that fans in yet another nation, Red Sox Nation, would do the same.
