Kuwata impressive in 1st spring outing
Former Yomiuri Giants right-hander Masumi Kuwata pitched a
shutout inning Sunday in his first spring outing with the Pittsburg
Pirates.

Kuwata, who is taking part in spring training as a non-roster
invitee, started the third inning and retired the side in order on 14
pitches with a pair of strikeouts and a groundout against the
Cincinnati Reds.
