Leadoff man doubles, then Dice-K rules
Johnny Ayers, a shaggy-haired 6-foot, 186-pounder who plays both baseball and football for Boston College, can expect a call from the Yankees on Saturday.

Well, maybe not. Yet history will show that Ayers swung at the very first pitch from Daisuke Matsuzaka on Friday, and that the lefty hitter sent the fastball the other way, down the leftfield line, for a double.
