This is the second article, but a very interesting take on the whole Matsuzaka issue.
His [former Daily Yomiuri editor Shoichi Nasu's] non-sports view differs from some, but Nasu surely speaks for many of his countrymen when discussing the 12 billion yen the Sox paid for Matsuzaka.

"I don't know how to describe this vast sum of money or whether it's a healthy state of affairs," he wrote. "However, I would like to see Matsuzaka strike out as many batters as possible and show Japanese baseball's level of power and skill."
