Player Salaries
Hi Michael,

Would you know where I can find out players' salaries? More specifically, I was curious about Roberto Petagine's of the Swallows. Thanks.

As a matter of fact, I had submitted the 2001 player salaries to the files section of the Pro Yakyu mailing list on request earlier this year. Somebody else even that the thought of adding it to same same site's database.

Note, I didn't have salaries for people who signed after spring training had started, so it isn't complete. But Peta-chan is in there.

You're not trying to recruit him, are you?

No, I'm not trying to recruit him, but rather quite the opposite. There are a lot of players in the minor leagues that could benefit from going to Japan. Obviously, a big selling point is the salary that they could earn. Jeremy Powell is a perfect example of this. When he found out he had an opportunity, he jumped at the chance because it was so beneficial financially.

i think that the japanese players are loyal enough that their coaches shouldn't pay them to stay with the team.
