Matsunaka's Salary?

Matsunaka's Salary?
I keep seeing different figures for Matsunaka (Fukuoka Daiei Hawks 1st baseman) and articles relating to his salary, does anyone know the story? It looks like he's negotiating, or in arbitration, or something. (I'm not too good with the business side of the Japanese language.)

The latest report I recall seeing said the same thing that this SanSpo article [in Japanese] says, that Matsunaka has refused the 3.1-oku yen offer (1-oku = 10,000-man; 1-man = 10,000; doing the math on your own will give you a better understanding of salary figures), stating that he wouldn't accept anything lower than 3.18-oku yen.

Without a contract, Matsunaka is now paying for camp out of his own pocket.

I think that the issue at hand has more to do with the release of Kokubo than about the amount. Matsunaka was more upset than anyone on the team when Kokubo was given to the Giants for nothing in return, and only went through the motions as the player representative for team unity in accepting the weak explanation. To the best of my recollection (which may be wrong), while he gave his blessing to those who wanted to go on the "Victory Tour" to Hawaii, he stayed behind in protest.
