Why All the Ties?

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Why All the Ties?
I'm new to Pro Yakyu, and I'm curious as to why there are tie ballgames so frequently? What's the limit on innings played?

Thanks, hudd.

The limit is 12 innings.

The reason for the 12 inning limit is because the majority of Japanese people depend on trains to get them places. Trains stop running after midnight, so they have to keep games short for people making commutes. I've almost missed the final train a couple times. I imagine it is not fun at all.
