- Who do you think the top 3 current players are?

This season: Iguchi, Ogasawara, and Johjima.

Last three years (not including Godzilla): K. Matsui, Nakamura, and Ogasawara.

Honorable mention: Fukudome, Kokubo, and Matsunaka.

If we're including previous years', lets not forget Iwamura, who had .921 OPS last year, somewhere probably in the top 5 in the league. Let's not forget Imaoka, Tani, Fukuura, or Nioka either.

With "gaijin" leading both leagues in home runs, Nioka is competing against the likes of Ramirez, Woods, Petagine, and Arias for the home run crown, while hitting over .300.

This is pretty subjective, but Michihiro Ogasawara hasn't allowed the switch to third to bother his performance at the plate, as he is hitting, what, .360?

Iguchi is playing out of his mind and Johjima is trying to become Japan's answer to Pudge Rodriguez.

When you get past the above three, Imaoka and Fukudome seem to be proving that they are for real. Kazuo Matsui has been a relative disappointment this season, though any middle infielder that bats .290 with 25 or so homers is welcome on anybody's ballclub.

But if I may nominate a pitcher, who about Kazumi Saito? 15 wins in a row, 17-2 overall, and he is in the top three or four in ERA, iirc. [Admin: He's currently ranked #2 in the Pacific League.]
