Video of NPB Games
If anyone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to get a hold of 2006 NPB games on video? Thanks very much.

Do you mean highlights?

If you wanted to get whole games you would have to write to the TV stations and see if they keep their recordings. Then maybe you would also need the clubs' permission as they hold the rights to their games. Season DVD highlights are issued by various clubs and NPB, but you need to watch them on your computer or a converter DVD player as Japan is a different code region.

Thanks for your reply. Actually I was looking for entire games on video. I wrote NHK and they said that they couldn't release any of their programs due to copyright laws. Being in the U.S., it seems like it's nearly impossible to obtain that sort of video from Japan.

As I said you need to contact the clubs (who are the copyright holders) in this case. If they were willing and if they were convinced by your request then they would probably charge you quite a lot.

Think YouTube! There are plenty of videos of Yakyu!

And during the season, you have marines.tv which is dedicated to the Chiba Lotte Marines! The channel 2 is active! Have fun!

Right. As I understand it (and I don't claim to be 100% right about this, so don't quote me), in order to put a TV program on the Internet or use it in some other way, the permission of every party who has a say in the copyright must first be obtained. That involves a lot of people/companies, so it gets complicated.

Wait until the season starts and check YouTube or the P2P sites. You might find someone willing to contravene the law for you. Or not, after the developer of Winny was convicted last week.
