The Osaka Kinetsu Buffaloes and the Orix BlueWave merged following the 2004 season and became the Orix Buffaloes. The merged team split its home games between the former homes of its predecessors. Figures for these games are in the "OK Buff." and the "BlueWave" columns for 2005.

It is important to remember that attendance figures prior to 2005 were estimated and therefore may be inaccurate for comparison.

You beat me by 6 minutes in posting this. I've been trying to catch up on some things and have finally found the old newspapers with this information. I posted it here.

However, the percentage differences you got are different than what I have (copied from Nikkan Sports). Nikkan Sports calculates the difference as [(2005Att - 2004Att) / 2004Att]. It looks like you used the averages instead of the actual attendence for your calculations, so you lost a great deal of precision. Would you mind if I updated the differences?

That would be fine.

Having attended and watched many Buff's games this year, those averages are grossly exaggerated! They're comparable to the Fighters, and you just have to watch highlights to see the huge difference in people at games.

I thought teams were cleaning up they're act in this respect, although it appears some actually have given realistic attendances.

Thank you very much to those who replied to me on this. I agree that not too much should be read into thses figures what with mergers and the new policies of quoting real figures having its effect. Giants will be keen to regain number 1 next year I'm sure.
