Tadashi Sugiura

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Tadashi Sugiura
Dear Commish,

What's the story again about Tadashi Sugiura in the 1959 series, during which a corn came off? I know he was overworked down the stretch. Please take me from there.

The man was incredible. 38-4 in 1959. Only 4 losses!!! With the 4 wins in the series, he was 42-4!!! I consider that the single most impressive pitching stats in NPB history.
