Hold vs. Save
Someone please explain to me what the difference between a save and a hold is?

A hold is when a reliever enters in a save situation, records at least one out, and never gives up the lead. The pitcher can't finish the game and recieve credit for the hold, that's why it's usually middle relievers who get holds.
A save, is when a relief pitcher enters when there is a lead no more than 3 runs and pitches at least 1 inning, pitches 3 innings, or enters the game with the potential tying run on base, deck, or at bat.

You can find the stats for holds for MLB at their website by going to stats. For the last few years in the NPB you can look in the Players link above for the selective player.
