Baystart/TBS
Does this mean they will show more Baystars games on TBS?

Does TVK get affected by this deal?

For those of you who haven't heard, Maruha sold their controlling interest (stock) in the Yokohama BayStars to TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System), the deal being completed this past week. Just enough stock from Maruha was sold to TBS Radio for them to have a controlling share, the remainder of Maruha's stock going to TBS-i, their digital CS TV station. Nippon Housou, also a radio station, continues to hold close to a third of the stock in the 'Stars.

I would think that the sell would effect other radio stations, such as Nippon Housou. But since they also hold an interest in the ball club, that may not happen.

I don't know how this will effect TVK. I see that they've still got the BayStars Club [in Japanese] on Fridays at 9:00 p.m. I don't think that it would effect broadcasts as TVK has a long history of supporting the local team.

The only reasonable thing I can say now is, wait until the season starts to find out.
