Best 20 Japanese Pitchers Currently?
In everybody's response to this question, I would like to know, in your guys' opinion, who are the top 20 pitchers right now (currently) in NPB, 1st best to 20th best? Thanks.

P.S. And this needs to be players currently pitching. Thanks.

An interesting selection - Andoh is just becoming a starter (two matches) and Micelli so far has proven to be an embarassment.

I heard today, Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 1500, Dan Miceli was released from the Giants.

IIRC, 2 blown saves, poor 1 inning of work in his 3 games with the Kyojin. Reminds me of his last two performances in the 2004 NLCS!

The top five on this list have the stuff to pitch in the Majors, if given an opportunity. I can't wait to see Matsuzaka make it in a few years.

I agree. The top five have the stuff to pitch in the majors, but by the time they are eligible to go to the majors they more than likely won't be as good as they are now. It's too bad the system isn't different. There are several players that could fare well if they got a shot in the majors. That includes some of the foreign pitchers in the league.

If we say the best young pitcher for each teams:

Pacific League: Kanemura (HNHF), Saitoh (FSH), Iwakuma (TRGE), Watanabe (CLM), Mitsuhara (OBs), Matsuzaka (SL).

Central League: Igawa (HT), Fujii (YS), Uehara (YG), (CD), Kuroda (HC), Katoh (YBS).

Hisamoto (CD).
Uehara

I heard that Uehara will be a free agent this year and coming to MLB for 2006. Is that true?

Isn't there any more opinions about the top 20 or 10 pitchers? I will like to hear some more.

14. Iwase
15. Kuroda
16. Arakaki

I like Tsuyoshi Wada and Nagisa Arakaki. Let's not forget them.
