Japan cruised to its second straight Gold at the Women's Baseball World Cup, crushing Australia 13-3 in the Gold Medal game. Japan's only loss in their ten games was 10-9 to Australia in round two. They beat the Bronze Medal winners from the USA twice, 5-1 and 6-1.

Kana Sakamoto and Tomomi Nishi threw and caught the ceremonial first pitch at Botchan Stadium before the Tokyo Big 6 all-star game on Saturday; apparently they're from Ehime? It was a really good throw, I was watching the two of them warm up. Nishi's pretty bulky, she reminded me of a female Okawari-kun or something.
