Japan to follow ball-strike count
I didn't see this posted in the Pro-Yakyu News section, but this is a very interesting bit of news.

I wonder how much confusion this will cause in the first year, and I wonder if it will trickle down to 2-gun, amateur, high school, kusa yakyu, etc.

Actually, it's trickling up. Japan Amateur Baseball Association (JABA) had decided a couple/few years ago to change to the international calling of balls and strikes. So those amateurs are now entering the pros and will continue to have it called balls then strikes.

The question is, when will this change trickle into TV broadcasts?

Greetings . . . I'm completely new to Japanese baseball and rules.

With regards to the ball-strike count I assume that the ball-strike as used in US major leagues is not standard in Japan. So the ball-strikes are now being called as . . . well ball and then strikes by the plate umpire, ha ha.
