Matsuzaka Daisuke Jersey?

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Matsuzaka Daisuke Jersey?
Does anybody know where I could get a Matsuzaka Seibu Lions jersey? I do not see any Lions jerseys at Yakyu Shop, and there were none on ebay. I do know that the official website for the Lions carry the jersey, but I doubt they ship to the U.S. I also would like to know where I could get one of their warm up jackets. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

The jerseys that the Lions sell with pre-printed numbers on them are of noticeably lower quality than the unnumbered ones, so if you're willing to spend some money, get a blank Lions jersey and then have the name and number put on by a good lettering store that will reproduce the Lions' font well.

Here's a Matsuzaka #18 road jersey on Yahoo Auctions in Japan (the seller won't ship internationally, BTW).

Here are a pair of "pro collection" uniforms; these are exact replicas of those worn by the players and carry a much higher price tag: Home and Road.

Then here is a slightly older "classic" home uniform.

If you're willing to pay over $200, get one of the pro collection shirts like the first two sellers above and have Seibu put Matsuzaka's name on it. Otherwise, get a blank shirt at Yakyu Shop and put the number on yourself. The Matsuzaka shirts sold in stores are of mediocre quality.

I definitely prefer the road version of the pro collection jerseys. Not right now, but later I am willing to pay that much for it. Is the jersey shown on the official Seibu site a pro collection one? Also, does the official Seibu site ship to the US?

The Seibu site does not ship overseas, and the road jersey (30,450 yen) you're referring to is indeed a Pro Collection jersey.

However, even if you can solve the shipping problem, you'd better hurry, because they stop taking orders for this year on November 30. And I doubt they'll be making up Matsuzaka jerseys next year, as he won't be on the Seibu roster anymore.
