Hey, that was cool. For me, it was interesting to read a bit of background on Rob and Owen-san, both of whom's I've exchanged a number of e-mails with over the years, but haven't yet had the pleasure of really getting to know.

Of the "outsiders," I like to think that Cecil Fielder and Warren Cromartie managed to make a lot of inroads to truely being "insiders" with their teams. Both are certainly more remembered (in a good light) than Kevin Mitchell or even Bob Horner. If it weren't for bad politics within the Marines from 1995 to 1997, Julio Franco had a shot of becoming a true insider as well. The fans certainly liked him.

I'm not a collector myself, but the history of Japanse baseball cards as explained in the article is interesting. Thank you for the reference.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
