Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi
In reading the box score for Hanshin's 9-2 win over SoftBank, I noticed that Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi was pulled after 5 innings and only 66 pitches. Did something bad happen or is this a typical work load for him?

Shimoyanagi pitches very well, but normally only has a maximum endurance of six innings. Okada pulls pitchers once they start to get hit, so it was a combination of both in this game. He would have only pitched one more inning had he stayed, but he did finish the fifth inning.
