No-Hit, No-Run
WestbayStars writes "Watching the BayStars' game on TVK this evening (6/20), they just announced that Kintetsu's Narciso Elvira has thrown a no-hitter against the Seibu Lions.  Chunichi's Bunch no-hit my 'Stars earlier this season, but the last time that someone threw a no-hit, no-run ballgame in the Pacific League was when Seibu's Watanabe no-hit Ichiro and the BlueWave back on June 11, 1996, 4 years and 9 days ago."

Elvira got a lot of help from several
excellent defense plays from 3B Nakamura,
who I think is not known for his defense,
especially recently, when he just hit
HRs like crazy. But Elvira had good confidence
in all of his pitches(Fastball, Curve, Slider)
, keeping most of the ball down, and throwing
a 3-2 curve almost in the dirt to strike out
little Matsui to register one of his 9 K's.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
