This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Iguchi is now tied for the Japanese record of five consecutive mo-da-sho held by Chunichi's Michio Nishizawa who did the feat on August 3 - 8, 1954. That's a record that has stood alone for 49 years.
Iguchi will be facing the Lions' Matsuzaka this evening (June 9). He commented, "There's now way I'll be able to hit three (hits) off of Matsuzaka. But I'll try to get one more hit each time." (Not a literal translation.)
Over the last five games, Iguchi has hit 15 for 24 (.625) with 4 RBIs. Gambatte Iguchi!
