This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Yakult milestones, Petagine hit the 100th home run of his 3 year career with the Swallows yesterday (6/28) against the BayStars in what turned out to be a 13-3 blowout.
While Peta-chan becomes the 213th player to hit 100 career home runs, he did so in the 5th shortest time, 333 games. Briant leads everyone in reaching the 100 HR mark in just 246 games, followed by Solieter (sp?) at 303, Bass at 304, and that great little Lion Destrade at 308. (Destrade always struck me as being so small, yet had so much power.) Akiyama tops the Japanese in speed to 100 home runs, back flipping home in 100 of his first 351 games for Seibu. He's the only Japanese player in the top 10.
