Tigers' Akahoshi: 3 Consecutive Years of 60+ Steals
Hanshin Tigers center fielder Norihiro Akahoshi became the first person in the Central League to have 3 consecutive seasons with 60+ steals, when he stole number 60 during the October 1st game against Yakult at Jingu Stadium. The only other person in NPB history to achieve 3 or more consecutive years with 60+ steals was Yutaka Fukumoto, who did it for 10 consecutive years from 1970-1979 with the Hankyu Braves. (stats from Japan Baseball Daily) Swipe number 60 for Akahoshi also made him the 38th person in NPB history with 250 career steals.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
