Kubo: First Marine Rookie in 55 years to Win 10 Games
Chiba Lotte Marines pitcher Yasutomo Kubo became the first Lotte rookie pitcher to win 10 games in 55 years, with his 6-0 win over the Lions Saturday. Kubo (10 and 2) pitched a shutout for the win, striking out 5, and walking 3. [Full Story - Daily Yomiuri]

For those who are wondering, the last Lotte rookie pitcher to achieve double digit wins was Atsushi Aramaki, who made his debut with the Mainichi Orions in 1950, winning 26 games, along with the Rookie of the Year award. You can find his career stats from Japanese Baseball Daily's Data Warehouse.
