BayStars break scoreless streak, lose game

The Yokohama DeNA BayStars know there's no place like home ... mostly because they couldn't find it for so long.

Norihiro Nakamura's double in the ninth gave Yokohama its first run in 47 innings, but the Hiroshima Carp were just as happy after their 5-2 victory -- their sixth straight.

Yokohama's futility was the longest such stretch in club history, while the Carp set a franchise record with 39 consecutive innings without allowing a run. Rookie righty Yuya Nomura (1-1) fired eight scoreless frames for his first pro win.

GIANTS 5, TIGERS 1

Shinnosuke Abe had hit first four-hit game since July 30, 2009, and 19-year-old Ryosuke Miyaguni tossed seven innings of one-run ball as Yomiuri topped host Hanshin to snap a five-game skid.

Shuichi Murata's RBI single in the first halted a club-record-tying 36-inning scoreless streak for the Giants.

SWALLOWS 3, DRAGONS 1, 10 INNINGS

Yasushi Iihara' sac fly broke a 1-1 tie and Shingo Kawabata followed with an RBI single as Yakult won in the 10th to take two of three from Chunichi at Nagoya Dome.

PACIFIC LEAGUE

BUFFALOES 2, EAGLES 0

Hiroshi Kisanuki tossed a four-hitter, fanning four and walking none for his first shutout since June 29, 2010 to help lift Orix past visiting Rakuten.

FIGHTERS 3, MARINES 1

Eiichi Koyano slugged a two-run homer and three relievers combined with Mitsuo Yoshikawa (1-1) to hold host Lotte to three hits at The Q as Nippon Ham notched its fourth straight win.

HAWKS 7, LIONS 5

Wily Mo Pena tripled in the tying run and Tomoaki Egawa followed by smacking a three-bagger in the sixth to help Nagisa Arakaki (2-0) win his second straight start.
