A shame about last night, as it was at my favorite stadium in Japan, albeit with a silly new name--HottoMotto Field. I think it was the only Tigers game scheduled there this year. Do you know if they are obligated to have the make up game there? Or might they just move it to Koshien? At this stage, the game won't be played until around November anyway...

The game has to be played at the originally scheduled stadium so it won't change location.

That's good to hear, thanks for the clarification. Are make-up games held in rural stadiums (i.e. Yonago, Kanazawa) also required to be made up there or do they just revert to the home team's stadium?

No a game wouldn't be played in a different stadium just because of rain. If the stadium was destroyed or damaged for some reason then yes there would be a change but otherwise no.

Are you sure about this?
It seems the rained-out Yakult Swallows @ Chunichi Dragons game has been rescheduled and will now take place at Nagoya Dome: http://yakyubaka.com/2011/05/11/central-league-chunichi-game-rescheduled-for-1013/

It seems the game has been scheduled at Nagoya because the Swallows are already there for their last series of the season. Having both teams travel to Kanazawa at the end of the season for that one was possibly thought expensive and maybe the stadium was unavailable then.

Not true at all. An Orix game that I had tickets for was rained out in Kobe and the make-up game was played at Osaka Dome which was personally, very disappointing.

With more pressure than ever to get in all the make up games, I wouldn't be surprised if more games are unfortunately moved to the Kyocera Dome. I know Orix already moved one game or series from HottoMotto to the dome. Too bad, as I have no interest in the Buffaloes, but I would actually consider going to see them if more games were played at HottoMotto. Kyocera Dome? No thanks.

I can't even stand to look at the Osaka dome from the outside. The architect should be charged with criminal ineptitude. Everything about that place makes me want to vomit including Orix's distorted "official attendance" numbers.

Wow! Strong feelings about Osaka dome. I never thought it was to bad. I shall have to have another look next time I go past.
Hey, Christopher. Giants last, Tigers fifth and Dragons fourth - after 20 odd games - when was the last time that happened - must have been a while ago?

That one I'll have to turn over to the experts - I can't recall that happening myself.

My main beef with the dome is the mere fact that Orix plays a majority of their games there when one of the nicest parks in Japan--Hotto Motto Field--is neglected. Additionally, the Tigers generally play about three series there but only a game or two at Hotto Motto. People complain that Hotto Motto is hard to get to, but the dome isn't in a great location either.
