Injuries update - Andoh is out of action

Injuries update - Andoh is out of action
In a shock for the Tiger's rotation starting pitcher Andoh has been de-registered with a strained back. He had been scheduled to pitch against Nippon Ham but pulled out. It is not known when he will be fit again. Okada is considering an emergency starter - Abe has been mentioned but his lack of experience in the role must count against him. Kojima is also under consideration.

Not good. We need our starters to stay healthy to keep up our hot start. Any connection with this injury and Okada's tendency to keep him in games too long?

It could be but it could aslo be over-training. There is no information at present on the exact cause.

Well at least Uezono has looked good so far, so hopefully we can survive this injury.

Uezono picked up his first win today and very nice it was. All he gave up was a rather lucky home run to Teppei but otherwise did very well. Let's hope Andoh returns soon.

At least we have a lot of depth at pitching. Fukuhara should be back before too long and hopefully he can return to his promising form. And Kanemura should get a chance one of these days. Atchison and Vogelsong have both been so-so, but hopefully at least one of them can put together a somewhat consistent year.

Andoh is recovering well and even though the Tigers aren't going to rush him he should be fit by the end of June.

Hirano has started training again and may even be back before the end of the Inter-league
